Dear members of District 7020,
It is with immense joy and great honor that I address you with my first message as the new Governor for the year 2024-2025. First, I want to express my deep gratitude for the trust you have placed in me to lead our District 7020 to new heights.
Our Rotary year will be marked by the theme “The Magic of Rotary,” which highlights the transformative power of the actions and contributions of Rotary members. As President Stephanie Urchick emphasized, the true "magic" of Rotary lies in the projects accomplished, the funds raised, and the new members welcomed, all of which together have a significant impact on communities worldwide. This is accomplished by the commitment and service of Rotarians. We must leverage the collective power of our members to create significant and lasting impacts in their communities and around the world.
I strongly encourage you to focus on peace, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to continue efforts to eradicate polio, reaffirming the importance of everyone’s commitment to achieve these ambitious goals.
Promoting peace and solidarity will be at the heart of our priorities. As I mentioned in my inaugural speech:
We will unite under our District 7020 slogan – 10 countries together in Rotary solidarity for the 2024-2025 term, working to foster positive peace. As committed leaders, we cannot turn a blind eye to the challenges faced by our communities. The situation in Haiti, for example, is not an isolated incident but reflects global challenges.
Every small gesture given, every effort to understand and forgive, contributes to the great tapestry of peace and harmony."
"We Rotarians can and must transform the world into a place where diversity is celebrated, conflicts are resolved through dialogue and compassion, and every individual can live without fear and oppression."
I look forward to collaborating with each of you to achieve these goals and many more. I also look forward to meeting you during my upcoming visits. Your passion, dedication, and spirit of service are the pillars on which we will build our success. Yes, we can make this year a time of ongoing progress for our district and our communities.
I invite you to join me in this commitment for a dynamic and successful Rotary year. Together, we will create and spread the magic of Rotary.
With my best Rotary regards,
Dominique Bazin
District Governor,
